Guide to Tirana's Best Nightlife - Into Albania

Guide to Tirana’s Best Nightlife

In Tirana, nightlife and bread are equally necessary! Yes, for each club still open in the wee hours of the morning, there is a 24-hour open bakery to match it. Because of the large number of bars and pubs in the city,

The three areas with the highest conglomeration of bars, pubs, lounges, and clubs in the capital of Tirana are Blloku (B), referring to the former residential neighborhood of the heads of the Communist government and the area “behind the Pyramid” (P), meaning the several parallel roads on the other side of the main boulevard.

Top cocktail bars:

Komiteti – Kafe Muzeum (BP)   – Decorated in Communist paraphernalia and serving the largest and most delicious variet of raki in town, hosting cultural events and documentary nights, this place is the most fun you will have in a museum. A must-see in Tirana! And, if you happen to be in Korça, you should visit its sister bar called Qoshka, located in the historic Old Bazaar neighborhood.

Nouvelle Vague (B) – its Jamaican feel does not quite match its fancy French name but the mix is wonderful! A local favorite, this place is always full and vibrant. The cocktail variety is endless and there really is no match for its cozy/unruly atmosphere.

Nightclubs

As far as dance clubs go, your best bets are Folie Terrace, along the main boulevard, Lollipoplocated at the heart of Blloku, and Discobox, located in the Academy of Arts campus, one of the most beautiful areas in town! Folie Terrace has the best outdoor environment during the warmer seasons. Lollipop, on the other hand, is the very first totally pop and commercial nightclub in town, an icon in its own right. Discobox is the most serious contender of them all, however, with the party really starting at 3 A.M and ending in the early morning every single weekend.

Summer Edition

During the summer, many of the hot bars and clubs mentioned above open their doors in various spots along the southern Riviera. So, if you would like to skip Tirana during the weekend, you can head to the best party beaches in the south, Albania’s own Ibiza. Among them, the most famous are Llaman, a small but wild bay, Dhërmi with its legendary Havana Beach Club, Drimadhes with Pepperon the Beach, Jal with Folie Marine, Porto Palermo for the artsy crowd, hosting occasional awesome events like jazz festivals, and many more places. We suggest that you check their calendars for current events before visiting.
