The New York Times Names Tirana the Idyllic Cosmopolitan Hub of 2019

Albania’s capital is one among very few select extraordinary destinations in the New York Times’ T-Magazine “The 10 Most Idyllic Destinations T Visited This Year.” The capital’s unique charms have it listed between the likes of Morocco’s Draa Valley, Greece’s Ithaca and Milos, Finland’s Aland Islands, France’s Nîmes, Italy’s Val di Noto, and Japan’s Kyoto, establishing the vibrant capital as one of the world’s most distinctly appealing spots to visit in 2019.

The list from December 12th, 2019 comes on the heels of yet another NYT story from September which beautifully defines Tirana as “Europe’s next haven for artistic expats.” The New York Times has trailed Tirana’s progress for more than a decade now. This “Capital Full of Contradictions” attracted the prestigious newspapers’ attention as early as 2005 while, in 2016, Tirana was declared “a city transformed.” Read NYT’s most recent update on the increasingly popular Tirana below: https://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2019/12/12/t-magazine/best-destinations-of-2019/s/06tmag-tirana-slide-Z2IZ-copy.html
