Like most seaside towns, in Durrës, you have your pick of perfect spots to watch the gorgeous Adriatic sunsets. Below, we have narrowed down the long list to our top six.
A very short drive away from Durrës, the remote location of Cape of Rodon does nothing to inhibit one’s desire to visit it. On the contrary, the gorgeous rugged nature of this place lends itself to perhaps one of the most romantic sunset-gazing spots in the country. This long strip of land, in the shape of a peninsula, stretches along the Adriatic for kilometers and offers some pretty memorable sunset views! While you’re there, you may want to visit the Skanderbeg Castle, as well!
Our second pick goes to the most popular beach around Durrës: Lalzi Bay. In the summer, this is one of the most visited beaches in Albania mainly due to the cleanliness of the seawater and its many seaside restaurant and café choices. Its proximity to both Tirana and Durrës is another convenient factor for many. And, if this did not suffice, the sunsets at Lalzi Bay are simply exquisite!
This bar is one of the hottest summer spots in Durrës, boasting a very cozy atmosphere and beautiful panoramic vistas over the city, its surrounding and, of course, the sea. From here, you can see not only the sea reflecting the most vibrant hues of the sun setting but the entire city awash in stunning colors.
Thanks to the white marble staircases of the contemporary Sphinx monument in Durrës, which nonetheless evokes an ancient vibe, the sunset here is quite a sight to behold. The colors beautifully reflect on the surface of the sea and this entire area, with people scattered here and there, resembling sculptures. Amazingly photogenic!
The typical Mediterranean architecture, delicious seafood cuisine and views of the sea are only three of the elements that have made this place an institution in the city of Durrës. For those of you who like to enjoy their sunsets in a vibrant atmosphere, with a nice dinner and a glass of wine, head to Charlie Max Marina and you will not be disappointed.
This part of the Adriatic coast is the ideal spot for those people who like a more tranquil beach experience, away from any noise or masses of people, and it’s situated very close to the heart of nature.
