Originally from Turkey, blogger Buşra Çete has lived in Tirana for a few years, along with her husband and baby daughter. Her love for Tirana and enthusiasm for life have made her into one of the greatest promoters of tourism in the country with more than 50K followers on Instagram.
Below she tells us her favorite places around town.
All of Mulliri i Vjetër (Old Mill) cafe shops. They have lots of branches all over the city so they are easily accessible for a new mom. Also their coffee and deserts are always fresh and delicious.
Skanderbeg Square. I think it is the heart of the city, especially in the most eventful days and weeks of the year. I like passing by whenever I have a chance!
The artificial lake. To be surrounded by nature inside the city makes me happy. It is an ideal spot for the short walks.
Pastaria. Pasta is always a good idea.
Elbasan’s tava (lamb and yoghurt casserole) is a delicious dish. The boiling lamb stew with the yogurt sauce is a great combination. It reminds me of Turkish cuisine.
Actually, as a new mom, my favorite happy hour drink nowadays is coffee. But, I can definitely recommend the drinks and atmosphere of Noor Café & Fine Food.
Donut. Donut. Donut. I’m a donut addict.
The National Theatre, Bunk’art 2, Tirana Castle. These are the top three choices for me as far as Albanian culture in Tirana.
Era! You can taste many of the traditional Albanian dishes. Ideal for a pleasant dinner.
Radio. With its décor, garden and cocktails, Radio Bar is one of the best in Tirana.
